Yes, of course you can be pessimistic, but your still cunts...

Have to say, will be interesting to see if Moyes can overcome the 2nd full season syndrome that seems to catch most of our mangers out.

Some are actually harping on about a pre-seasons from 25 - 35 fucking years ago. Put your fucking teeth back in.

We’ve got every reason to be pessimistic, Mex. Disappointing seasons have so often followed successful seasons at West Ham.

I’m with Exile, we’ve had a good preseason, why not be optimistic and predict a good season.
Miserable cunts...

Lanzini had a slight knock and was rested as a precaution.

We also started very well in our Inter Toto season as we were a few games fitter than everyone else.

I can't remember which season, possibly when Futre and the Romanians came, we had a brilliant preseason and I thought we'd finish top 6, easy.

We ended up in a relegation scrap.

Pretty different game of footie when you’re doing everything not to get injured. All bets are off really. Pre season is just fitness and getting used to kicking the ball about again it seems to me.

Re: West Ham v Atalanta
1985-6 we had a shit pre-season.

Admittedly, we also had a shit start as well (5 out of the first 18 points on offer).

Maybe a good pre-season carried over to the first few proper games might have seen us win the League.

A good pre season doesn’t always mean a good season and viva versa.

I’m with Sir Alf.

As the site pessimist and generally being a miserable old bastard I just wanted to remind you all... as mentioned elsewhere:

David Moyes' side ended their pre-season programme unbeaten. Just a word of caution however - the last time that happened and the Irons faced Newcastle on the opening day of the season, they were relegated at the end of the 2002/03 campaign...

I'd love to share your optimistic attitude Exile but if Wilson gets to play put your house on him scoring. He fucking loves playing us and for some reason we never man-mark him despite the stats.

Saint-Max played today & you just know Wilson will be fit
He wont miss playing against us
Their keeper is out but expect them to be at near full strength ... & guess they will be looking to sign Joe Willock this week.

The future is merely a bet. With West Ham I bet big every time. Less so with other things.

Re: West Ham v Atalanta
chim - we will beat Newcastle next week. I have never known such a good pre-season - we will hit the ground running for once this season. Newcastle will have Wilson and Saint-Maximan missing. Believe!

I don't want to piss on anyone's chips but you know that we are going to lose to Newcastle don't you? We always fucking do and I always wonder why, because they are shit.

Beat them and we're going to have a good season.
